Hello, I’m Patricia DeSandro, also known as BonaDea Lyonesse in the Pagan community, which I have been a part of for decades, working in the wisewoman and Romano-Celtic traditions as a healing facilitator, elder, and Wiccan high priestess. I serve the seeker to help them find their personal truths and hidden motivators with my natural abilities as a clairvoyant medium. I honed my skills at the knees of some very special elders; an Amish farmwife, a Cherokee elder, a wisewoman healer, a witch queen, and an Appalachian conjure man.
I have a large family compiled of four generations and family is my anchor, my motivator and my heart. I write for them and the generations to come.
As a former teacher, artist, and now a writer, I have sampled life on many different fronts and I have many different interests. I hold a BFA from Bowling State University and have certifications in a specialized form of hypnotherapy and Therapeutic Touch and a diploma in sociology. I also have studied anthropology and comparative religion.
The key to a rich, fulfilling life is finding one’s center and authentically living from there, is my belief. Though, this took me awhile to figure out for myself. I love adventure and made a promise to myself to accept opportunities for it whenever possible. Seeing everyday experience as an adventure is my motto.
Having gone down many roads less traveled, I have visited some remote, faraway places, stretching my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual self. Through that, I have had many unique experiences that have colored my worldview. And that have provided me with many great stories, which I will share with you!
Telling stories and sharing lessons from my life experiences at universities, conventions, and events both public and private, has allowed me to meet many interesting people. They are all my teachers. I have presented lectures and workshops around the country in places like Washington DC, Southern California, Maryland, West Virginia, Detroit, and many other places in Michigan and Ohio.
So, what did I hope to accomplish with this website? Well, let me tell you.
Spoken in Stone
A picture is worth a thousand words…
but words reveal the context.
When I saw petroglyphs deep in the middle of the Great Basin desert, I was fascinated! There were so many images and several were superimposed or overlapping. The people who scratched these into the rocks obviously had much to communicate. And many hundreds of years later, the enigmatic images were still there. Though I thought I could make out what some of the pictures were, the context was lost to me. I vacillated between wanting to understand and feeling like I was intruding into a private conversation. My imagination continues to run wild with possible scenarios. While that can be very entertaining, I know I will never truly understand the message.
I have always loved how words magically provide context and aspect while conveying an impression. I remember sitting on the dock at the lake as a child, for hours, thinking of words I would use to describe the environment around me. I wanted others to experience it as if they were actually looking through my eyes and listening with my ears, all just by hearing my words. But words only spoken can fade with time, unlike the ancient images etched in the stones.
These pages are my stones. They hold my pictures written. My hope is that you will be able to experience my version of the world through my words, and for that moment, we will have a shared experience.
